Team
Meet the team.
This year, our team is comprised of ten dedicated students. It is lead by a project manager, whose job is to represent, guide, and organize the team in an efficient manner. Furthermore, our team is split up into sub-groups (marketing, hardware, and software). Even so, members are still encouraged to play an active role in every aspect of the team.
Lily Orth
Project Manager
Lily is a senior at Vandegrift and this is her 4th year on Hydra. She has been participating in FIRST programs since 2017 and this is her fifth season in FTC. In the future she wants to major in mechanical engineering and work in the aerospace industry. Other than robotics, she plays soccer and enjoys baking.
Henry Moore
Hardware/CAD Lead
Henry is a sophomore at Vandegrift and this is his second year in FTC. He has been in FIRST programs for 5 years. In his free time he enjoys hanging out with friends, playing racing games, and baking.
Arthur Grousset
Software Lead
Arthur is a sophomore at Vandegrift this year. He originally joined FTC back in 8th grade because he wanted to learn more about software and programming. In his free time, he enjoys hanging out and playing video games with his friends.
Vyn Singh
Marketing Lead
Vyn is a sophmore at VHS and this is her 2nd year in FTC. She has been in FIRST programs for 5 years. Outside of school, she enjoys playing video games, drawing, and watching video essays. She also really likes Garfield :3
Praneel Basu
Hardware
Praneel is a senior in his second year of competing in FIRST. He joined robotics in order to establish a STEM foundation for the rest of his life. Outside of robotics, Praneel likes to play basketball and hang out with friends and aspires to pursue a career in Computer Engineering.
Gavin Patel
Hardware
Gavin is a sophomore in his fifth year of competing in FIRST. He joined robotics so because he had an interest in building robots and thought that it was a fun challenge. Outside of robotixs, Gavin likes to plat basletball and hang out with friends and aspires to pursue a career in the Medical Field.
Annamalai Arunachalam
Hardware
Annamalai is a sophomore and this is his first year of competing in FIRST. He joined robotics to learn more about the robots which may influence the future. Outside of Robotics, Annamalai likes to play chess(competitively) and aspires to pursue a career in both the engineering and business fields.
Megan Van
Software
Megan is a freshman at Vandegrift High School taking part in her first year in FTC robotics. She enjoys playing video games.
Myra Tyagi
Software
Myra is a freshman at Vandegrift High School. This is her 2nd year in FTC. She originally joined to expand her knowledge of software and computer science and plans to pursue a career in the medical field. She also enjoys drawing, reading. and playing video games
Sacha Peeters
Hardware
Sacha is a freshman at Vandegrift High School. Sacha originally joined robotics to further more establish his knowledge of STEM. He joined FTC and FIRST this year as a subset hardware member. He plans to pursue a career in the engineering and medical fields.
